Vinca, 14 km S-E of Belgrade on the Danube river, Yugoslavia. Eponymus site of the Vinca civilization. Very nice figurines of bird goddesses. A lot of geometrical writing. Beautiful painted pottery. Chronology: 5.800 - 4.800 BC

TURDAS is a village near Deva, on the Mures river, in Transilvania, Romania. Eponymus site of the Vinca culture, represented by the exceptional figurines and pottery, painted with geometrical signs. A lot of Neolithic "books" made of little clay wheels are waiting to be discovered by the archaeologists.
